In this segment we will
massage our way from illness to healing as we practice techniques that apply to
the well documented and the uncharted manifestations of trauma in our being.
Massage for trauma, stress and anxiety
We will practice massage applications for trauma, chronic pain,
side effects of western medical protocols, pain management, insomnia,
neuropathy, digestion issues and more. We will explore attentive presence,
therapeutic intent and flexibility, we will navigate through the integrative
approach, we will dance, meditate, exercise Qi Gong and delve deeper into our
own therapeutic stance, we will practice the joy of Thai massage and combine
the forefront of western understanding of muscles, nerves, movement and fascia
with traditions of Sen lines and energy distribution.
The Trauma segment is divided into two weeks.
Trauma 1 is an introduction to Trauma, its physical manifestation, meeting the Psoas muscle of the soul and the vagus nerve of our wellbeing, experiencing and experimenting with connective tissue, adjustments and adaptations of traditional techniques and integration of modern understanding.
Trauma 2 will expand our practice to the supporting mechanisms of the psoas and vagus, movement and motion, centering, grounding and much much more.
The final day of each level will be held at Freedom House in the morning, where there will be a two-hour practice session with the staff and family members of Freedom House.
Afterwards, the class will reconvene at Sunshine School for a closing session on Friday following lunch.
Additionally, we are pleased to offer an optional Saturday session, either in the morning or afternoon, where students can join Roni and practice self-care techniques with the staff at Freedom House. This session is open to any student who would like to participate.
